FAQWhich lead do I need for my puppy? Our 8mm leads are perfect for puppies. The are made from a soft, lightweight rope, but are extremely strong because they are spliced by hand, not stitched or stapled as with some slip lead designs. These leads are also ideal for large breeds of trained dogs as they are an ideal size for putting in your pocket when they are not needed.
Which whistle should I use? You can use any whistle you like to train your dog - but which ever pitch of whistle you choose must be the one you continue to use. The most commonly used whistles are the Acme 210.5 and Acme 211.5. There is little difference between them (to human ears, at least).
Will a slip lead stop my dog from pulling? Probably not. Slip leads were not designed to choke a dog when it pulls. They were designed for working dogs, such as gun dog and sheep dogs, who can not wear a standard dog collar which is likely to get caught when they are working in the field.
How do your dog halters work? The halters a figure of '8' and are an all in one design. One part of the loop goes behind the dogs ears, the other loop goes over the nose. As the dog pulls the dog puts pressure on their on head, which they instinctively back off from. These are 'One Size' and so one halter will fit any size or breed of dog or puppy, except for the very small. Unlike most other halters, there are no plastic clips or adjustments needed, and your dog does not need to wear a collar to make the halter work, meaning these can be quickly put on and taken off. They can be a great training aid, especially for the more energetic and boisterous dogs, as they help you to remain in control, therefore making it easier to train your dog. How quickly will I receive my order? We dispatch items within one working day, an email will be sent to you to confirm that your order is on its way. Most orders are then received 1 to 2 working days after they have been dispatched, but unfortunately some items are unavoidably delayed in the post. We therefore ask that you allow 10 days for your order to arrive before contacting us.
Do you have a shop I can visit? We are an online only retailer, we do not have a shop which our customers can visit.
Can I pay by cheque? Unfortunately we are no longer able to accept cheques as a method of payment. You can, however, still pay using your credit or debit card over the telephone. Please select the 'Pay by telephone' option under payment method at the checkout and complete your details, ensuring you have entered your telephone number. You will then need to select 'Confirm and pay'. We will call you within 12 hours to take your payment.
